Home owner grant
BC's home owner grant reduces the property tax on a principal residence, and it has to be claimed each year.
The grant is larger for seniors and some other owners, and it phases out above an assessed-value threshold the province resets annually, which excludes many North Shore houses. Apply online through the province after your tax notice arrives.
