BC Assessment value
Your BC Assessment value is the province's estimate of a property's market value as of July 1 of the previous year, used to calculate property taxes, not the price it would sell for today.
Notices arrive each January. In a moving market the assessment can be well above or below current value, which is why a comparative market analysis is a better guide to price.
