Small-scale multi-unit housing (SSMUH)
BC's small-scale multi-unit housing rules require most municipalities to allow three to four homes on many lots once zoned only for single-family houses, and up to six near frequent transit.
Each municipality has written its own bylaws to implement the rules, with lot-size, servicing and design limits. For a North Shore lot, the practical question is what the District or City of North Vancouver or West Vancouver will actually permit on that specific parcel.
